Churches & Ministries

Churches and ministries need knowledge, skills, and support to walk alongside families who are caring for children who have experienced stress, trauma, and adversity. People of faith need to not only be moved towards compassionate action for  vulnerable children in our community, they also need to be moved towards informed action. Action rooted in wisdom and insight and bolstered by equipped, supportive faith communities ready to journey alongside them.

Prepared Churches

Prepared Churches will educate church leaders through a 5-week Cohort course to understand the importance of trauma-informed best practices for adoption and foster care ministries. It will equip leaders by providing ample time for individual ministry implementation plans during the course sessions. It will empower leaders by connecting to a network of like-minded leaders.

Created to Connect: A Christian’s Guide to The Connected Child

Created To Connect: A Christian’s Guide to The Connected Child was created by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Michael & Amy Monroe to help illuminate the biblical principles that serve as the foundation for the philosophy and interventions detailed in Dr. Purvis’ book, The Connected Child. This study guide is designed to help adoptive and foster parents better understand how to build strong and lasting connections with their children, and is ideal for use in small groups as well as by individuals or couples.
